The story of Booth232 begins at 232 Decatur Street. Brooklyn, USA. The year was 2011. In dire need to document her 90’s hip-hop themed houseparty, Mariana Sheppard thought it would be a good idea to have a photobooth. The only problem, it was her first year of graduate school and Mariana was broke. So, she quickly grabbed a backdrop, a set of studio lights and assembled a makeshift photobooth in the middle of her brownstone apartment. 

By the end of the night over a thousand pictures were taken. The next day Mariana uploaded them to Facebook and the response was overwhelming—the booth was a hit! 

Things have taken off a great deal since that night in May. Mariana has since taken Booth232 to weddings, museums, and corporate events. She and the booth split their time between New York and New Orleans.
